The kitchen is the heart of the home, but for many, it is also the black hole! Kitchen organization is so important, but it isn’t always easy to keep everything together. Today I’m going to share with you some of the ways I keep my kitchen organized. I don’t have a kitchen organization secret, just lots and lots of planning and rearranging! The kitchen is the heart of the home, but for many, it is also the black hole! Kitchen organization is so important, but it isn't always easy. This post will give you some kitchen organization ideas. There isn't a kitchen organization secret, just lots and lots of planning and rearranging! You may just pick up an idea or two when you get a little tour around this kitchen... and you wont believe where they keep the spices!

When we moved into this house, the kitchen was the drop zone for most of our boxes. We moved right after getting married, bringing along all our own belongings plus all the boxes from our registry. To say it was a disaster would be an understatement.

I made kitchen organization my top priority- unpacking and categorizing everything. I tried to find the best place to store things and ran into lots of issues- cabinets that were too shallow or too small, drawers that were not tall enough… and I spent lots of time trying to find the best place for things. When things were finally put away I felt like we could actually live here.

After living here for a few months, I took literally everything out of the cabinets and drawers and completely rearranged. You have to know how you use a space to organize it properly. I’m pretty happy with how we have things organized now- but kitchen organization is an ongoing project!

I’ve divided this post into countertops, upper cabinets, lower cabinets, and drawers. That way it’s easy to follow. Hey, I can’t help but want to be organized everywhere!

countertops

When we moved into our new house with our amazing kitchen, I knew one thing: I wanted to keep the countertops clear.

Well, I haven’t quite done that, but I’ve done the best I can! And it’s definitely an improvement on our previous kitchen. I wanted to keep only the basics out, which are things that we use regularly or things that don’t fit anywhere else.

So I settled on a few things: Our toaster oven, some basic utensils, paper towels, and our kitchenaid mixer. As we lived here I’ve also added a fruit bowl, salt, pepper, olive oil, vinegar, honey, and a decorative plate.

Oh, and if you’ve noticed how shiny and amazing our counters are, you can give all credit to my homemade granite cleaner!

It was important to me that small things didn’t look like they were left out accidentally. I wanted them to look purposeful. So I used this awesome acacia two tier tray to store salt, pepper, honey, and a few other things. Our olive oil and vinegar are in decorative bottles next to the stove.

I kept out only our nice looking utensils in a neutral color scheme. The rest are in a drawer. This is definitely a huge improvement for us- it keeps the space looking less cluttered while still leaving important tools within reach.

We also keep our paper towels away from the sink to make them less convenient. This means we don’t use them nearly as often, opting for sponges and microfiber cloths instead. We waste so much less paper this way! We honestly don’t even go through one roll a month.

So that’s about it for countertops! We made sure everything looked purposeful while keeping it uncluttered- which is so important for kitchen organization.

upper cabinets

Cabinets can be tricky. I love the layout of ours, but I’m the first to admit that they could be much more efficient. What we’ve got going for now works for us, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we change it in the future.

Upper cabinets are one of the easiest places to store things, so it makes sense to keep your everyday use things in there. Plates, bowls, everyday drink ware, and mugs all make sense.

Where we’ve been a little less logical is to keep much of our extra dinnerware and glassware in these cabinets as well. We registered for lots of extras because of Lars’s big family (between his siblings, step siblings, and their spouses we’ve got 20 people! All in his immediate family!) This works for now but I can see myself moving our extra stuff somewhere less convenient if we need to make use of this space in the future.

You may just pick up an idea or two when you get a little tour around this kitchen... and you wont believe where they keep the spices!

I’m a huge fan of cabinet organizers– they’re super important for our kitchen organization! We got most of ours at an estate sale for $1! You really can’t beat that. I’ve made use of them to try to keep stacking to a minimum. The less stacking the less weight each piece has to bear, meaning they will last longer.

I put our dinnerware to the left of the stove because they are directly across from the dishwasher. When emptying the dishwasher, dinnerware is the bulk of it. So I put them where it was most convenient.

We’ve got a lot of height in our cabinets, which you can’t necessarily see from the pictures. I’m 5’8″ and I can just barely reach the third shelf in these cabinets. Top shelf is step stool territory. So logically the things we use every day are kept lower.

For our drinkware, we keep our drinking glasses and commemorative mugs on the lowest shelf. The mugs that came with our dinnerware are on the second shelf. The top two shelves are for less frequently used glassware- champagne glasses, wine glasses, beer glasses, martini glasses, cocktail glasses… why does each beverage need it’s own glass?! Luckily we have the space for them!

There isn't a kitchen organization secret, just lots and lots of planning and rearranging! You may just pick up an idea or two when you get a little tour around this kitchen... and you wont believe where they keep the spices!

This cabinet is one of my favorites. It stores all our pitchers and long trays and cutting boards. I used a maple rack to keep the trays in place. It just makes me happy to look in this cabinet and see everything easily accessible.

Finding a place for our bakeware was a little trickier. The only cabinet that was deep, wide, and tall enough was the one above the pantry. We had previously stored kitchen appliances here, but I found a better spot for them.

Once the appliances were moved out and the bakeware was added, I felt like I had finally found the right place for things! We used a wire organizer to keep baking trays separate, and kept our cute nesting casserole trays in front.

lower cabinets

These are definitely my favorite! We’ve worked really hard to make our lower cabinets work for us. Kitchen organization is tricky, so it takes trial and error. We don’t have very many lower cabinets, but the ones we do have are put to good use!

There isn't a kitchen organization secret, just lots and lots of planning and rearranging! This cabinet came with pull out drawers, which I absolutely love. We keep our cookware in this cabinet, which is to the left of the oven. We ended up moving the top drawers higher so that we could keep some taller cookware on bottom.

You know I love cabinet organizers- I’ve made use of this awesome one to store our pans. They fit perfectly in the cabinet drawer.

You can see that I keep our pots and saucepans in the other section of the cabinet. Finding lid storage is always a challenge. I’ve used one of the door mounted lid racks before, but the lids fell off if you slammed the door too hard. So we kept ours in the upper drawer of this cabinet. It works so well for us!

There isn't a kitchen organization secret, just lots and lots of planning and rearranging! This narrow cabinet baffled me for a while. It is such an awkward size- there isn’t much you can logically fit in there! I stored some of our bakeware in there for a while, but it was still too narrow. When rearranging I realized it was the perfect size to fit small appliances!

So this awkward narrow cabinet became our small appliance storage. We keep our waffle maker, fondue pot, immersion blender, and mandolin slicer in there. It’s one of my favorite organization ideas to date.

And if you have trouble with the cabinet under your kitchen sink- that’s a topic in and of itself! Which is why I already wrote an entire post about it. Just click here to read it!

drawers

Drawers can be tricky- it’s easy to just toss everything in there and forget about it. Which is why drawer organizers are so important!

We have an awesome huge drawer to the right of the stove- so that’s where we keep the rest of our utensils. We also keep knives, baggies, tin foil, and wax paper there. I’ve made use of some drawer dividers so far, but I plan to build our own custom drawer dividers sometime in the future- so be looking out for that project!

There isn't a kitchen organization secret, just lots and lots of planning and rearranging! You may just pick up an idea or two when you get a little tour around this kitchen... and you wont believe where they keep the spices!

Tupperware has always stumped me. I just never found a good way to store it! My current system is working for us, and I think I’ve solved the issue. I’ve made use of 2 deep drawer dividers to keep our tupperware sorted.

I keep the large tupperware (and our awesome reusable bowl cover) in the left section. Normal size tupperware goes in the middle, and lids on the right. It makes it easy to find everything and put it away. Let’s hope it works long term!

There isn't a kitchen organization secret, just lots and lots of planning and rearranging! You may just pick up an idea or two when you get a little tour around this kitchen... and you wont believe where they keep the spices!

Now for my favorite drawer- the spice drawer! These spice drawer liner inserts were the perfect size to fit our drawer. I just laid them down, and then added all our spices. Now they are always in reach and easy to find. Maybe one day I’ll put them all in color-coded matching containers and be in organization heaven, but I’m not there yet!

There isn't a kitchen organization secret, just lots and lots of planning and rearranging! You may just pick up an idea or two when you get a little tour around this kitchen... and you wont believe where they keep the spices!

So there you have it- that’s how I keep our kitchen organized!

There’s no secret to kitchen organization- you just have to find what works for you. Making things easy to find and put away is key- and be open minded! If it makes most sense for you to store dinnerware in a drawer- do it! Work with what you have.

Good luck organizing- let me know how it goes for you!

If you’re super organized, even in your bins, this bin with a window is perfect for you. Personally I think I’m a bit too messy to use a bin with a window, but when they are used well they look amazing.

I've been terrible at organizing my necklaces- they always get disordered and tangled. I wanted an easy organizer that made it easy to find and put my necklaces away. So I got to DIY-ing, and came up with this DIY necklace holder. And it has been working great for me! Not only is it effective for organizing, the DIY necklace hanger looks attractive and brightens up my closet. Add to it the fact that it took me about 20 minutes total to make, hang, and add all my necklaces, and I couldn't be happier!

I don’t know about you, but I am terrible at organizing my necklaces. I’ve tried lots of different organizers but they always end up a jumbled tangled mess. And then I end up not wearing them because of the time it takes to get everything untangled!

I decided I needed to fall back on one of my favorite organizing tricks and use hooks. When I’m looking for an organizational solution, I always want something that is quick and easy to use. If it isn’t, I never end up putting anything away. So open hooks seemed like the perfect solution for necklaces. So I got to DIY-ing, and came up with this DIY necklace holder.

And it has been working great for me! Not only is it effective for organizing, the DIY necklace holder looks attractive and brightens up my closet. Safe to say, I’m very pleased with it. Add to it the fact that it took me about 20 minutes total to make, hang, and add all my necklaces, and I couldn’t be happier!

Tools and Supplies you will need:

Step One: Paint the wood backing

I've been terrible at organizing my necklaces- they always get disordered and tangled. I wanted an easy organizer that made it easy to find and put my necklaces away. So I got to DIY-ing, and came up with this DIY necklace holder. And it has been working great for me! Not only is it effective for organizing, the DIY necklace hanger looks attractive and brightens up my closet. Add to it the fact that it took me about 20 minutes total to make, hang, and add all my necklaces, and I couldn't be happier!

I used the inside of a wood canvas for my necklace hanger. I painted the outside of it white, and let that dry for about an hour. I put masking tape over the white so that I could paint the inside a different color.

I wanted the inside to have a marbling effect. So I painted the back a light blue, and let that dry. I then added glops of pink and blue paint together and messily swirled them around so that the brush strokes were still visible. I continued this until I got a pattern and look that I liked.

Step Two: Add the nails

I've been terrible at organizing my necklaces- they always get disordered and tangled. I wanted an easy organizer that made it easy to find and put my necklaces away. So I got to DIY-ing, and came up with this DIY necklace holder. And it has been working great for me! Not only is it effective for organizing, the DIY necklace hanger looks attractive and brightens up my closet. Add to it the fact that it took me about 20 minutes total to make, hang, and add all my necklaces, and I couldn't be happier!

I started out measuring and marking out the nails at equal intervals, but I never end up liking things that are perfectly spaced, so I ended up eyeballing and estimating where to put the nails. I just nailed each one in so that it was secure, but sticking out far enough so that you could still hang a necklace on it.

Step Three: Hang!

The last step is to hang your new organizer. I have recently discovered and fallen in love with command picture strips. I used four to hang this on our wall. They are super easy to use, and if you hang your holder crooked (which I always do on the first try) you can easily reposition and adjust it.

Then all you have to do is hang your necklaces- and you’re ready to go!

Add to it the fact that it took me about 20 minutes total to make, hang, and add all my necklaces, and I couldn't be happier!I love my new DIY necklace holder! It looks so bright and cheery. It’s already been very useful at organizing my necklaces.

The added benefit of making this necklace holder was that I had to round up and untangle all of my necklaces, which was not a short process. It’s been so long since I’ve sorted through them all that I actually forgot that I owned a few of them! That just goes to show how much I really needed to make this.

Not only is it effective for organizing, the DIY necklace hanger looks attractive and brightens up my closet. Add to it the fact that it took me about 20 minutes total to make, hang, and add all my necklaces, and I couldn't be happier!
And, as organizing goes, the best solutions are always simple and easy to use. It takes absolutely no effort on my part to hang a necklace up, and definitely is easier for me to find them.

I love it when organizational solutions become part of the decor as well. This DIY necklace holder blends in seamlessly, adding both style and function.

Now that my necklaces are easier to find and access, I’m definitely wearing them more. I could not be happier with this easy DIY!

I’m an organization addict! With my years of experience, I’ve learned a lot about the best organization solutions and tips. I wish that someone had told me all these when I started out organizing, but figuring them out on my own has worked out well too. Just took a little longer.

So, these are my top ten organization solutions for you! I hope they help you make your life a little neater.

1. Decorative bins

I’ve written a post about this before, and it is my ultimate secret to an organized home. Bins are my number one organizing solution by far. They have made such a difference for clutter for me. It puts the clutter in a place and out of sight.

There are so many places to buy great decorative bins! I get most of my bins from the container store, target, or home goods. Every time I make a trip to one of those stores I troll the clearance section for storage bins- I always need them! Amazon has good ones too.

2. Use all the space

There are a lot of places that people overlook for storage. Some of my favorite places to organize are under the bed, the backs of doors, or even putting a shelf above doors! A lot of closets are very tall, but leave tons of space at the top. Why not store something like suitcases up there that you don’t need very often? Survey your rooms to look for unused places that can be turned into storage.

I’ve done a few things to make my storage more useful in unexpected places. You can add wheels to bins to make them easier to access under the bed. I also love the elfa door systems– they’re great for renters because you don’t need to make any screw holes or anything.

Organization is so important- but it isn't always easy. These ten organizing solutions will help you conquer the clutter! It's time to get organized today- with these organization tips you can do it. 3. Take stock of what you have

You’ll never get organized if you don’t know what possessions you have in your home. It’s important to regularly check up on what you have to make sure you don’t get out of control.

We all do it- shove something in the back of the closet and completely forget that it exists. To stay organized, you should regularly survey your pack rat places and check out what you have. If it’s something you will never use again, donate it or sell it! Better it goes to someone who will actually use it, and you can make some money selling you old things.

4. Give everything a place

Do you ever have the problem of leaving things out all the time? Chances are you don’t have a place that item belongs. That’s my biggest source of clutter. So I try to designate spaces for everything I own. Sure I leave things out still, but when I get into a cleaning frenzy I can actually put everything away in its place. And know where it is when I’m looking for it. It save so much time.

Organization is so important- but it isn't always easy. These ten organizing solutions will help you conquer the clutter! It's time to get organized today- with these organization tips you can do it.

5. Make it easy to put away

The other problem that will lead to you leaving things out is making them difficult to put away. If you have to get out a ladder to put it back, or move 10 other things, chances are you’ll procrastinate putting it away. I’ve made this mistake a lot! The simple solution is to make things easy to put away. One way to do this is through my favorite- decorative bins.

Now I understand that not everyone has amazing storage spaces. Some of you have tiny weird shaped closets. The point is to prioritize things you use a lot and put them in the most convenient places. And as you continue to use them, if you keep leaving something out, give it an even more convenient place to put it. You’ll never put it away if it’s hard to do.

6. Think about what you buy

Every time I’m out shopping, before I buy something, I picture where I will put it in my home. Do I have space in a closet? Will I need to get rid of something else for it to have a place to go? When you answer those questions it makes it a lot easier to unpack your shopping bags.

The added benefit of this is it helps me avoid impulse buys! If I think about where it will go and how it will use it, it’s a lot harder to justify getting silly needless things.

7. Organize unseen spaces

It’s easy to shove all your things into a cupboard or closet and let it pile up in there. If opening a door makes you shudder from the mess, it’s time to organize that space. Just because you don’t see it when you walk in the room doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be an organizing priority for you.

There are some spaces that are harder than others, like under the sink. I’ve fallen in love with this under sink expandable storage unit. It made my super hard to organize kitchen sink get some order finally.

8. Labels are your friend

If you get into an organizing frenzy, you may put everything away. But that’s no use if you can’t find it tomorrow! As soon as you designate a space for something, label it. That way you’ll know where everything should go.

There are lots of different ways to make labels, but if you just have a standard printer I love using avery labels. I find them the easiest to print on.

9. Junk drawers are okay

I know I said to have a place for everything. But there are some things that seem not to fit anywhere. It’s okay to have a place for these things. After all, even the ultimate organized Friends character Monica had a messy closet of things that didn’t fit into any category!

So it’s okay to have a junk drawer! Just don’t forget what you’ve put in there, and make sure to go through it every once in a while.

Organization is so important- but it isn't always easy. These ten organizing solutions will help you conquer the clutter! It's time to get organized today- with these organization tips you can do it.

10. Little touches make a difference

It is amazing how much the small things can help make your space look less cluttered. A simple tray on your coffee table for your remotes makes it look like they belong there. A catchall plate by the front door for your keys and sunglasses looks so much neater.

In general, try not to leave anything out without a place. Little trays and bowls and baskets make your space look much neater.

Good luck organizing! Let me know if these organization solutions help you conquer the clutter.

It's so easy to let the cabinet under your kitchen sink get messy. It just feels like too much work to get it together. There's so many things that you want to keep down there because it's so darn convenient, but the pipes and other things down there make it hard to store things without complete chaos. But I think I've got the solution! It’s so easy to let the cabinet under your kitchen sink get messy. It just feels like too much work to get it together. There’s so many things that you want to keep down there because it’s so darn convenient, but the pipes and other things down there make it hard to store things without complete chaos. But I think I’ve got the solution!

We have a particularly tricky sink. There’s a lot going on in that cabinet. We have a dish disposal, instant hot water heater, water filter, and all the hookups for our dishwasher. There’s a lot of tubes and cords and whatnot under there, which makes organizing all that much harder.

I fond the perfect solution- this amazingly customizable Undersink Organizer. Seriously, this thing is ridiculously genius. It is able to fit around everything- even under our crazy busy sink! I am so excited about how much better looking and more functional that cabinet is now.

But please don’t judge me for how bad I let it get before we addressed it….

Kitchen Sink Cabinet Organization

That’s pretty bad. As we’ve moved in, I just kind of threw stuff down there. It is getting to the point that it is no longer functional, so I had to address it.

Okay, so I’ll show you how I did it.

Kitchen Sink Cabinet Organization

See how crazy our undersink situation is?

The first thing I did was take EVERYTHING out from under there. Every single plastic bag, brush, sponge, and miscellaneous nonsense. How did I get so much crap under there? This is always my first step to organizing. Without it I have no idea how much is actually in there and what actually needs to find a place.

Kitchen Sink Cabinet Organization

Biscuit was pretty confused about all the commotion.

Kitchen Sink Cabinet Organization

Then I cleaned out the cabinet- wiped everything down and used the handheld vacuum to make sure it was really clean. Then I laid out this adorable bright contact paper to make it look a little happier under there.

I put together the undersink organizer. Seriously, there aren’t enough good things to say about this organizer. It is crazy adjustable so you can fit whatever you need and work around all the crazy pipes. You have to put it together in place- or at least I did. That made it slightly trickier, but it was still so easy to figure out.

Then I decided where everything should go. I keep most of my cleaning products in the laundry closet, but there are a few that I want to be able to grab quickly. My dusting spray and all purpose cleaner top the list.

Sponges, some microfiber cloths, dishwasher tabs, and plenty of other goodies go down there. Extra dish scrubbing brushes and trash bags I also like to have close at hand. And my foldable dish rack fit perfectly next to the organizer.

Kitchen Sink Cabinet Organization

We also have this amazing roll up dish rack. It lays out over the sink so it doesn’t take up counter space. I love this thing- we use it almost every day. But when it’s not in use it rolls up conveniently and fits right under the sink.

I kept all my things that I use most often under there. Most of my cleaning supplies are farther away, but I like having a few things there. I would never replace trash bags if I couldn’t grab them quickly. Or do a quick wipedown of the counters if I had to go retrieve the sponge from somewhere. It’s all about convenience. If it’s not convenient, you won’t take it out or put it away.

Kitchen Sink Cabinet Organization

So there you have it- the easiest way to organize under your sink. All you need is an amazing under sink organizer.

I am embarrassed to show you how I’ve been living for one and a half years. Ever since we moved into this apartment, I’ve said “man I really need to clean up the cords next to my bed.” There isn’t an outlet anywhere near my bedside, so we used a super long extension cord to reach my bedside. For over a year now it just sits on the floor. I charge my phone here, I spend a lot of time on my computer here, and I have a lamp plugged in. And all the cords just jumble together on the floor.

I’ve complained about it, I’ve tripped on it, I’ve spilled water on it. And I haven’t done anything about it. Until now!

I’m embarrassed to say that that is an entirely accurate photo of what my cord situation has been like. For over a year. I love organization because it increases convenience- and I’ve lived with this inconvenience for so long. But I finally had enough.

I was able to organize my cords through some awesome products I got from The Container Store‘s office sale! I’ve been eyeing them for a while now and the sale was perfect to take advantage.

The key things you need for this cord organization project are:

This project also worked well because my extension cord had a little loop on the end. Most of them do, but in case yours doesn’t, here is one that does.

So how did these come together? Through my fabulous genius idea!

I knew I wanted to attach the end of my extension cord to the side of my bedside table. That way it’s off the floor, I can access it easily. and it is out of sight.

So what I first did was use one large and one medium command cord clips to hold the end of the extension cord up on the side of the table. This is where the little loop becomes necessary.

Next, I used a bunch of the cabledrop clips to manage where the wires went. I always had a problem with my lamp accidentally coming unplugged, but now you can see that the lamp cord heads off straight to the back and I won’t accidentally unplug it again (it is the grey cord).

And with my very simple but very genius situation, I can now charge my phone and computer and use my lamp without bending over and untangling a mess of cords. It’s awesome.

I would say the room looks much improved, wouldn’t you?

What a difference this has made already in the few days since I’ve worked on it! Seriously, I know they say that every minute you spend organizing saves you an hour of time. And it is so true. Do you know how much time I’ve spent bending over, untangling cords, bumping into them?

How did I wait so long to do this!

You shouldn’t wait, fix your messy cords now!

Hi friends!

So, as I’ve already mentioned, Lars and I are doing the Whole30 for the second time. Since I have the benefit of experience this time around, I am making sure to get everything prepped and planned in advance.

Part of that preparation included making this meal planner and grocery list. When I was done with filling in all our meals, I thought that my little spreadsheet was pretty useful, and other people might think so too!

I’ve split the Whole30 into 6 different 5 day segments. I find that easier than going by a regular week, because then you can start and end on any day you want without confusion. Also, it makes sense when you are eating this much fresh food at home to go to the grocery store every 5 days.

So, click on the images of these awesome planners to download the PDF file. Are you busy planning and preparing for your whole30? These free printable planners will help you out a ton. So you can see for the meal planner that there is an option for sides. I find that the meal that I spend the most time cooking and planning is dinner. (Makes sense, right?). In our last Whole30, we ate the previous dinner’s leftovers for lunch most days.

So the way I like to plan our Whole30 dinners is by picking a protein and a side. Some meals don’t need a side, like hearty stews or big salads. The point is to try to get in interesting proteins, veggies, and fats. So that’s why the spreadsheet is set out that way.

If you would rather download an editable excel file, you can download that here.

Are you busy planning and preparing for your whole30? These free printable planners will help you out a ton. Check out the free whole30 grocery list template and the whole30 meal plan template. The meal plan template fits your whole plan on ONE page.

I have the grocery list set up by store sections. I find that when I include canned or frozen goods in the “vegetables” section I forget to pick them up. I always feel like I’m done with fruits and veggies once I get out of the produce section of the store. Having the canned and miscellaneous categories makes it easier to shop without forgetting items.

Anyways, I hope you find these planning tools as helpful as I do! Good luck!

It's amazing how much the little organizational touches can make a difference. Our bathroom cabinet was a total disaster! With a few simple organizing supplies, it became functional again.

We have this tiny little bathroom cabinet that gets a lot of action. I’m glad we have a bathroom cabinet at all, because a lot of the apartments in our area have stand-alone sinks. It really makes a difference just to have that little bit of extra storage. Like I’ve said before in my 5 Crucial Organizing Tips, you’ve gotta make use of all your space.

That being said, I really let the bathroom cabinet get out of control. There used to be some sort of a system, but it obviously wasn’t a good one, because no one followed it. Every time you opened the door something toppled out. Not exactly the situation you want.

So, I picked up a few supplies, did a little re-arranging, and now it is good to go! No more problems with toppling over and not being able to find anything. This re-organization took me about 15 minutes. So trust me, you can do it too.

It's amazing how much the little organizational touches can make a difference. Our bathroom cabinet was a total disaster! With a few simple organizing supplies, it became functional again.

Isn’t our sink pretty cute? Nothing special, but it gets a lot of use! Anyways, opening the door was becoming kind of a hazard. And forget putting anything away after taking it out, or you would knock everything over.

You can see just how bad it was in the picture below.

It's amazing how much the little organizational touches can make a difference. Our bathroom cabinet was a total disaster! With a few simple organizing supplies, it became functional again. We’ve got miscellaneous cleaners, band aids, maxi pads, toilet paper, travel cosmetic bags, extra shampoo and conditioner, hair products, and plenty of other stuff. And I feel like it is all important and should be easy to get to. So, I guess that’s how the mess happened?

So, I took every single thing out of the cabinet, dusted in there, and then went about deciding how to organize it. I got two different types of stacking shelves so I could make use of the vertical space.

I prioritized pads, tampons, and toilet paper because they are all things you don’t want to have to get up from the toilet to get. (Sorry if that’s TMI for some of you- but convenience is an important organization factor).

Cleaning products are in the middle section without a shelf and on the left top shelf. Tampons on the bottom left shelf and pads are in the middle right in front. And all our travel bags are on the shelves on the right, neatly placed so you only need to take one out at a time.

It's amazing how much the little organizational touches can make a difference. Our bathroom cabinet was a total disaster! With a few simple organizing supplies, it became functional again.

A lot of improvement, right? Now you can see and reach almost everything. You don’t have to move stuff around to reach what you need, and most importantly, things are not toppling out.

Form and function are my goal for every organization project- and both are achieved here!

And all you need to replicate this at home is pick up some shelves that fit under your bathroom cabinet. You can get them at the dollar store, target, the container store, online, you name it. These are pretty similar to the ones I used.

It's amazing how much the little organizational touches can make a difference. Our bathroom cabinet was a total disaster! With a few simple organizing supplies, it became functional again.

Let me tell you- every time I open the cabinet now- I am so relieved. Nothing falls out, everything is in place. Nothing beats convenience.
